Peace is a mixed media portrait painting of Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize. She was a Kenyan environmental and political activist as well as the founder of the Green Belt Movement in Kenya. This piece is inspired by her work on environment conservation and female empowerment. 
 
Created using 2nd hand fabric and dried flowers as well as natural dyes and fabric paints.
